Visit the authentic Victorian mining Town of Breckenridge, nestled between the magnificent Ten Mile Range and Continental Divide, this is a perfectly quaint place to cross-country ski and snowshoe.
Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing 1/2 mile from downtown Breckenridge along Free Ski & Ride Shuttle route that stops right at our front door. Just ask the driver to stop at the Breckenridge Nordic Center & Snowshoe Tour Adventure Center, at 1200 Ski Hill Road in Breckenridge. 32Km of groomed classic and skate Cross Country Skiing & 16Km Scenic Nature single track Snowshoe Trails winds in and through old growth spruce forests, and open Beaver Meadows. Breckenridge Nordic has a Shock Hill Olympian's Skier Bridge and two nordic skier tunnels for a continuous looped trail system. We have a newly expanded cross-country skiing trail system on Peaks 6 & 7 in the White River National Forest. We manage and groom trails on 1,300 acres, under permit by the USDA, Forest Service. We feature "Kathy's Viewpoint" cabin with sauna, and the Hallelujah Hut. Both are warming hut destinations that are heated and open all day, everyday.
Ski the beauty of the Town of Breckenridge's "Protective Management Area" in Cucumber Gulch along the Beaver Meadows Trail and participate in the year-round Nordic Nature Series - Interpretive Snowshoe and Hiking Tours .

Must Do: You must try to ski up the Gluteus Maximus or Gluteus Minimus Trails (also a drive up option) in the White River National Forest to Kathy's Viewpoint sauna cabin or the new Hallelujah Hut. You will appreciate the spectacular vistas, quiet wooded trails, and groomed skiing with a back-country atmosphere.
Terrain: 32km State and Classic groomed ski trails and 16km Snowshoe, (beg -advanced) or Tour. Very easy flat teaching areas and training loops, rolling Beaver Meadows & challenging expert terrain on Peaks 6 & 7 in the New Nordic World.
Facilities & Amenities: Skier lodge, Josee's Cabin warming hut, Kathy's Viewpoint warming hut and sauna, Lessons four times daily by reservation, back-country ski experiences on ungroomed trails, skating, telemark slopes nearby, kid's gear; 4 lessons daily, showshoe tours by night or by day with reservations, Women's clinics, Instructior Rendevous clinics each Nov., jumping off point for B.C. skiing on Forest Service trails.

Other Services: Ice skating 1/2 mile away in town indoor and outdoor, some dog trails for skiing on Peaks 6 & 7, and snowshoe trails up there are for dogs on a leash.
Food Service: Bring your own or enjoy our outside grill, with homemade salads and soup made fresh daily and served on weekends, and snack bar. Inside lounges, out-of-doors picnic tables and trailside benches are for your enjoyment.

| Directions: I-70 to Exit 203 Frisco/Breckenridge, travel 10 miles South on Colorado Hwy 9 to Breckenridge, yield right onto Park Avenue over Hwy 9 bridge, go under the Gondola and at the second stoplight, Park Avenue/Hwy 9 and Ski Hill Road, yield right onto Ski Hill Road. Travel 1/2 mile up Ski Hill Road, past the Shock Hill Bridge (we ski and snowshoe on top of this bridge) and take your second right into our FREE private driveway and Nordic parking. See the Breckenridge Nordic Chalet at the trailhead and gateway to great skiing. |
